Why Daylight Saving Time is Bad

Daylight Saving Time has ruined this man's life.

Subject: DTS has ruined my life!

Dear Premier John Horgan,

Daylight saving time is very bad for the physical health of British Columbians.

In the spring, when clocks leap forward an hour, it makes everyone tired and grumpy.

In the fall, when clocks fall back an hour, many people go drinking and dancing, and they get a hangover and sore knees.

But that’s not all!

Studies show that with the time change in the spring, there is an increase in the number of traffic accidents.

Case in point: On Monday March 15, after the clocks sprang forward, I was speeding to get to work because I overslept, and I smashed into a garbage truck. I totally destroyed my bicycle!

Now I have to buy a new one, and I don’t have any money!

I overslept because I didn’t set my alarm clock. The annoying buzzing sound gives me a nightmare of the shower scene in Psycho.

Then I wake up, and I can’t fall back asleep!

My biological clock wakes me up an hour before work, but when clocks leap forward, I’m late every day for a month. Unfortunately, I haven’t found an employer who will put up with this, and I always get fired!

Please cancel daylight saving time. If you do, it will help people like me get to work on time.

Sadly, it’s that time of year again when I’m looking for a new job.

  1. Hey Christopher! Submitted review for donkey first. If it will be accepted- I’ll post for book 2. Sorry, a bit late with all this, but my mother in law died, so it’s a lot to take care. ✌️

  2. Hey! I can try to repost them, but I don’t know if it’s possible. My account & all reviews (for all years) been deleted by Amazon. I opened a new profile but so far could post only reviews on new published books ☹️🤯 I’ll try & let you know later… ✌️

  3. Hey Victoria, I noticed both of your reviews disappeared from Amazon. I wonder what happened. Unfortunately, yours is the only review I had of Letters from a Madman. I hope you are well! I appreciate you. I tuned up my Daylight Saving Time letter today. Chris

  4. The situation changes, we must adjust to it … because we want to keep going to work and getting paid … It is our responsibility to adapt. I have fallen out of bed in the morning flailing frantically to shut up my alarm and felt like death, like a corpse digging up through the earth to find the painful, blinding sunlight, that I may stalk the roads to my damn job. I’ve felt the deathly pain everyone describes and others, on the way to work, have smiled brightly at my passing form to receive only grim half-smiles in return. I must get to work and earn a damn living. It’s MY responsibility to do so.

  5. I used to love the fall time change and I have always hated the spring change. Now both of them are terrible for health and sleep. It’s just crazy. Thanks for writing. God bless!
